Dear Esteemed Audience:

Sakya Buddha University (SBU) is a university committed to a global, multi-ethnic educational approach rooted in the spiritual sciences.

For the 2025 – 2027 academic period, we wish to accept 200 (two hundred) graduate students from Vietnam on a full scholarship, which includes meals, accommodation, tuition fees, and health insurance. The total cost per scholarship over two years is approximately USD 89,000 for each student.

Details of our academic programs are outlined in the Student Handbook (available at: here), which includes two master’s programs:

  • Master of Arts in Buddhist Philosophy
  • Master of Arts Buddhist Counseling Psychology

Mandatory academic and financial requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree from one of the three aforementioned institutes.
  • Completion of an English program for international students, co-offered by SBU, lasting from 26 to 50 weeks.
  • Enrollment fee to be paid to the English-language training partner institution: USD 250.
  • Form I-20 Fee: USD 350 payable to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
  • Sponsorship Fee: USD 1,500 for legal services and USD 600 for USCIS application.
  • A personal savings account with a balance exceeding USD 16,200.
  • After graduating, if the student meets the required qualifications of both merit and talent, and wishes to serve SBU’s educational system, they can be sponsored for long-term employment. Students who are not sponsored by SBU after the completion of the master’s programs are required to return to Vietnam.
